How Do I Track My Delivery?
When a merchant ships your package with Weels, you'll receive an SMS text message with a tracking link. Tap the link to open a real-time tracking page — no app download required.
Your tracking link looks like this: weels.ca/track/XXXX-XXXX. Save it so you can check back at any time.
What Each Delivery Status Means
As your package moves through the delivery process, you'll see these statuses on your tracking page:
- Created — the merchant has created a shipping label for your order. The package hasn't been picked up yet.
- Picked Up — a Weels driver has collected the package from the merchant or our Markham depot. It's on its way.
- In Transit — your package is actively on a delivery route. You'll see the driver's real-time GPS location on the map.
- Delivered — your package has been successfully delivered. A photo of the drop-off location is available on the tracking page.
- Failed — the driver attempted delivery but couldn't complete it. This can happen if no one was home, the address was incorrect, or ID verification was required and couldn't be completed.
Real-Time GPS Tracking
Once your package is In Transit, you can follow your driver's location on a live map. The map updates automatically, so you'll know exactly when to expect your delivery — no need to sit by the window all afternoon.
GPS tracking is available for every Weels delivery at no extra charge.
SMS Notifications
Weels sends automatic text message updates at key moments:
- When your package is picked up — you'll know it's on its way
- When it's out for delivery — with your tracking link
- When it's delivered — including photo proof
- If delivery fails — so you can coordinate with the merchant for a reattempt
Notifications go to the phone number the merchant provided. If you're not receiving texts, contact the store you ordered from and confirm they have the right number on file.
Photo Proof of Delivery
Every Weels delivery includes a timestamped photo taken at your doorstep. This photo is available on your tracking page once the delivery is marked as complete. It shows exactly where the driver left your package.
For age-restricted deliveries (alcohol, cannabis, tobacco), there's no photo drop-off — the driver will hand the package to you directly after checking your ID.
What If My Package Shows "Delivered" But I Don't Have It?
First, check the photo proof on your tracking page — the package may have been left at a side door, with a concierge, or with a neighbour. If you still can't find it, contact the merchant you ordered from and they'll work with Weels to investigate.
What If Delivery Fails?
If your delivery status shows "Failed," it means the driver attempted delivery but couldn't complete it. Common reasons include no one being home, incorrect address, or a failed ID check. Your package will be returned to the Weels depot, and the merchant can arrange a reattempt.
Reach out to the store you ordered from to reschedule delivery.
